PI ADDs value to state and local governments in a number of ways:
SMART Assessment
PI helps clients understand why their programmatic and financial performance varies from that of other government entities operating under similar circumstances. Ideally, this service is performed at the program level. The results can be aggregated to assess the performance of entire departments or state and local government entities. With this information, PI clients have a better idea where to look for improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
SMART Design
Building on the results of SMART Assessment, PI helps clients articulate a clear statement (including performance measures) of what success would look like for the program and identify a menu of options for hitting the performance targets. This is accomplished by mapping the existing and alternative work flows and choosing the option(s) that will result in the greatest possible improvement.
SMART Delivery
Building on the results of SMART Design, PI helps clients implement the option chosen. This often involves building and launching online and/or analytical tools to support the redesigned work flow. It also includes verifying that the anticipated results are actually achieved.
When taken together, this package of services constitutes a system of improvement that will lead to much higher overall performance for state and local governments.
